This extravagant handmade-to-order cushion features the "Bewoner van den Libanon" character from a hand-colored Karl Joseph Brodtmann stone lithograph from H.R. Schinz's 1840 Naturgeschichte und Abbidungen des Menschen. This man could be of Arab, Phoenician, or Canaanite descent. Brodtmann was part of the post-Linnaean Age of Enlightenment, hand-colouring sets for biologists and the aristocracy. Brodtmann's work displayed a remarkable sense of aesthetics and scientific accuracy. This opulent cushion is available velvet shimmer, Mayfair herringbone, Archway brushed twill or soft velvet fabric in four sizes.
